On December 11th 2008, we had our official 'launch' of the CopperLake label and wines. Many friends made the journey over Takaka Hill from Nelson for the event, and friends and people connected with the establishment of the vineyard (who have since become our friends), were also here.
We invited local restaurant owners too, but many were unable to attend, due to Christmas events.
It was a beautiful, blue sky day, and we had arranged large tables with white cloths, under the shade trees.
Everyone enjoyed tasting the Pinot Gris and Viognier, and then walking around the vineyard and down to 'CopperLake'.
The roses were in full bloom, and the tide was exceptionally high… one of those special early summer days.
The Golden Bay Weekly also published a large article about the vineyard, and now everyone in Golden Bay knows we’re here, and that the wine is for sale!
And sales are going well!
